Before I dive headlong into why you should consider hiring me as your personal trainer in 2020 – Happy New Year!
So, it’s the start on a new decade, you survived Christmas (just!) and perhaps saw the New Year in with style with copious amounts of booze. With the decorations packed away, you’ve pondered a New Year’s Resolution to make 2020 the year you get fitter, lose weight and find your mojo again.
Thing is where do you start? Diet? Exercise? Stop smoking? Dry January? Suddenly you feel overwhelmed and in dire need of a helping hand. You have a friend who uses a personal trainer, but you wonder if having one yourself is the right choice for you given the cost, not to mention the commitment of at least one hour a week.
So here then to help you decide are the main benefits that your-friendly Brighton based Personal Trainer Gav O’Brien of 3Fs Personal Training believes in one hundred percent:
1. Education, education, education!
There are two parts to this as your potential new Brighton based personal trainer:
a. I’ve been trained to train you on how to correctly perform a wide range of exercises covering body weight, free weights, trx suspension, cardiovascular as well as resistance machines, the bottom line here is to reduce the risk of injury and increase the effectiveness of your bespoke personal training programme. I tend to work with older adults so keeping you free from injury whilst-progressing you towards your unique health and fitness goal is of paramount importance to me.
b. If you don’t know which are the right exercises for your unique health and fitness goal then you are highly unlikely to achieve it. When we meet for the first time I’ll drill down to what exactly it is you want to achieve, then based on my fact find I’ll develop an exercise programme that aims to achieve your goal within the shortest but sustainable timeframe. I’ve helped scores of clients over the last few years achieve their health and fitness goals.
2. I will help you execute perfect form
Having me as your Brighton based Personal Trainer beside you to show you the correct technique is one of the key benefits. I will ensure that you perform each exercise in your bespoke exercise programme correctly with the right posture to maximise results. If your form is not correct when exercising you will be at increased risk of injury as well as not achieving your health and fitness goal, as nothing kills off a New Year’s Resolution quite like three months of prescribed bed rest after trapping a nerve in your lower back!
3. It’s all about you
It may seem obvious but we are all different, and this means your abilities and health and fitness requirements are different to everyone else. This could be because you’ve got an old knee injury, or perhaps a health condition such as arthritis or osteoporosis. Perhaps it’s that you just hate gyms as you find their environments unfriendly and intimidating. Having a personal trainer with the experience to understand you unique requirements will ensure that you get a bespoke exercise programme that takes account of all your needs and will ultimately deliver your health and fitness goal.
4. I will help you set realistic health and fitness goals
It’s only natural for you to want to achieve your health and fitness goals right away, whether that’s weight loss, six pack abs, J-Lo butt or Mr Universe strength. However, these are not always achievable, and if you don’t hit them quickly then chances are you may feel discouraged, downhearted and then simply give up as yet another New Year’s Resolution bites the dust.
As your friendly Brighton based Personal Trainer, I will not only help you set realistic SMART goals that you will be able to achieve (on the proviso that you put in the blood, tears and sweat of course) but importantly, I will also keep you on track to hit your health and fitness goal. For example, if your goal is to achieve a size 10 for the summer, it’s not just about doing three hours of High Intensity Interval Training each week for five months. It’s also about changing your diet to eat the correct foods with the correct portions based on widely accepted dietary practices, mixing cardio and weights to work the correct muscles, and setting a realistic timeframe in which your goal can be achieve.
5. I will help you with specific health and fitness goals
As well as helping 3Fs Personal Training clients set realistic health and fitness goals, I’m the perfect man for the job to help you achieve a specific health and fitness goal. This is ideal for those of you who are training for a specific event such as a Half-Marathon, or need to achieve a certain weight before you are able to do something you really want, such as getting married in the fairytale wedding dress that you’ve dreamt of since you were a young woman.
Hiring me as your Personal Trainer will put you on the right track and could make the difference whereby you complete your first Half-Marathon in a time that you though unachievable, or have you gliding down the aisle to audible gasps from your gathered friends and family on a day that you’ll remember forever.
6. I will keep you accountable
Does this sound familiar? It’s January the 2nd and you’ve gone to bed determined that next morning you’ll get up an hour early, fix a light health breakfast before heading off to the gym you joined over Christmas, aiming to work out solidly for an hour before smugly heading into the office, buzzing from your power workout. At 5.30am your alarm goes off and you hear the rain beating on the bedroom window. You mutter under your breath several words about the weather before rolling over to hit the snooze button, preferring to stay warm in bed to hitting the gym on a wet grotty January morning.
This is where having me as your Brighton based Personal Trainer is crucial in ensuring that you commit to your health and fitness goal. If you’ve made an appointment to meet me for a personal training session in the convenience of your own home, given you’ve paid £35 for this in advance, then you are highly likely to still go ahead than if you are just kidding yourself you that will go to the gym after work, having hit the snooze button first thing in the morning.
7. Easily fits around even the most hectic schedule
At 3Fs Personal Training I offer a fully mobile personal training service across Brighton and Hove, as well as surrounding conurbations of Worthing, Lancing, Goring-by-Sea, Southwick, Shoreham-by-Sea, Saltdean, Rottingdean, Peacehaven, Lewes and Henfield. And I can train you in your home, the office or outdoors in one of the many parks and gardens, even down by the beach. I’m available 6-days of the week; Monday to Friday from 6am to 9pm, and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. So no matter how hectic your schedule, I’m sure I can find you a time that suits you. And if Sunday turns out to be the only day you can do, I’m happy to oblige!
8. I will develop you a personalised training programme
There are always going to be some exercises that you love to do, some that you’re indifferent to and others you simply hate with a passion. For example, just because you can physically do three sets of 15 reps of Goblet Squats using a 10kg Kettlebell doesn’t mean that you actually want to, but you perhaps love the idea of doing three sets of Bastards instead using a 10kg Powerbag.
With me as your expert older Personal Trainer I will tailor your personal training programme to focus on exercises that you enjoy, as well as encouraging you to do the exercises that are best suited to achieving your health and fitness goal.
In addition to this, there is always going to be the odd day when the very last thing you feel like doing is a high intensity interval training workout, and so having me a your Brighton based Personal Trainer means that I can tailor your exercise for that ‘off-day’ to accommodate your mood while still trying to make the session helpful in terms of achieving your health and fitness goal. I can motivate you to find energy that you didn’t think was there!
9. Keep you and your body constantly challenged
Does this sound familiar? Last year you joined a gym the lovely helpful gym instructor did your induction and gave you decent exercise programme. You’ve been going to the gym three times a week, and religiously have stuck to the routine. In the first few months you noticed some changes, felt a bit fitter. However, in the last few months, you’ve felt like you’re treading water and are beginning to feel disheartened by the lack of progress.
The bad news is you’ve plateaued!
The good news is that hiring me as your personal trainer will make a huge difference, simply by the fact that I will never give you the same workout twice. I strongly believe in mixing it up, keeping your body constantly challenged, and keeping you constantly interested through varying your programme. Above that I’ll become your life coach, can advise on nutrition, help you with motivation which when combined will get you to the health and fitness goal that have so far eluded you.
10. Exercise can help you with mental health
It has long been accepted that moderate intensity physical exercise can help you with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. And moderate intensity physical exercise is a recommended as part of treatment by many health professionals. Your GP may have already mentioned this to you. Having me as your Brighton based Personal Trainer could help you with a bespoke exercise programme if you suffer from mental health problems.
I can also help you with motivation, as if you’ve ever suffered from depression, just getting out of bed can be hard, let alone finding the energy and the get up and go to work out for an hour. I will choose the right exercises to release the most endorphins, those feel good chemicals not to mention to offer you a shoulder to lean on. I’m a good listener as well as an excellent personal trainer. Through thick and thin, I’ll get you moving forward.
