A Hove based personal trainer’s best of guide to Hove

Personal Trainer guide to Hove

I live in Hove just off the Kingsway and as a busy personal trainer I get around my home patch daily. Over the last four years or so I’ve got to know my local area of Hove inside and out. Here are my first port-of-calls as a busy Hove based personal trainer, for various products, services and exercise that I use, buy or do regularly:

Hove based Personal trainer’s favourite park to train in

A couple of roads up from where I live is Wish Park and the side off of Saxon Road has some climbing and hanging posts and rails. The posts are great for securing my battle ropes to.

A busy Hove PT’s favourite gym

I belong to Corals Gym, it has everything I need in terms of free weights, resistance and cardio machines. I can cycle to it in 15 minutes, and if I drive there’s free parking.

The smartest sportswear shop bar none in Hove is Ocean Sports Board Riders.

Best barber shop for a dapper PT

There was a time when I shaved my face daily. These days I prefer the stubble look not least because of the many early morning personal training sessions that I do. I entrust H’s Barbers to keep my hair and stubble in check. The hot towels that you get are a nice way to relax!

Keep fit classes Brighton and Hove

An older adult personal trainer’s favourite exercise class venue in Hove

Since January 2019, I’ve been running the Young At Heart Keep Fit Club classes at St Helen’s Church Hall in Hangleton, Hove. The hall is a generous size and the heating in the winter months is great. There is also a decent kitchen area as we serve tea, coffee and biscuits after class.

Favourite health food and supplement’s shop

I eat a balanced diet so generally I get all the vitamins and minerals I need from what I eat. However, I do like snacks and the healthiest ones that I can find are stocked by Holland and Barrett in George Street, Hove.

Hove Park is a great place to run, power walk in. It’s got some great paths fit for running and there are some nice inclines to make it a bit challenging in places.
